For instructors
Your students practice from your study guide, and see where their work goes wrong.
Circled turns the material you already give students (study guides, slides, old quizzes) into short lessons and practice. When a student misses a problem, it reads their handwritten work and marks the step that broke, then gives fresh questions until they get two in a row. Hints come one step at a time, never the whole answer.
Class pilot
One term, free, with your section.
You get a class code
Tell us the course and roughly how many students. Within two school days you get a code that gives every student in the section Pro for the term, plus Pro for you.
Students join in a minute
They open Circled in a browser, sign in with their email, and enter the code. Nothing to install. Share the code on your course page or in class.
You hear how it went
At the end of the term we send a short summary: how many students joined and how much they used it (checks, sessions built), in totals only. Then you decide whether to keep going.
Academic integrity
Built to make students do the work.
- Next step means one line. A stuck student gets the next line of their own work, not the solution.
- Checking needs work to check. The feature that marks mistakes reads what the student wrote; it doesn't solve problems for them.
- Practice from your material. Questions are written from the files you or your students drop in, with new numbers and wording, so they can't be copied onto graded work.
- Your rules apply. Our terms tell students not to use Circled during graded work unless you allow it. Say so in your syllabus and it carries weight.
Privacy
Students sign up themselves. You don't share any records.
Each student creates their own account with their own email. We don't receive rosters, grades or anything from your school's systems, and we don't give you individual students' activity. Pilot summaries are totals only.
Students' notes stay on their devices unless they choose to sync. Work they check is sent to the AI model for that request and not kept on our server. Read the full privacy policy.
For a department or campus agreement that needs a formal data agreement, contact us and we'll work through your school's process.
After the pilot
Simple pricing for departments.
Most students do fine on the free plan. If your department wants Pro for whole courses, it's a per-student, per-term price with no software to install.

Pilots work best in courses with problem sets and a cumulative exam: intro chemistry, physics, biology, statistics, precalculus and calculus, economics. Learning and tutoring centers are welcome too.
